Mantel & Mounting
On this project our customer had an interesting need, she wanted to mount her TV above the fireplace . . . although she didn’t have a mantel. After seeing the project site I recommended she first have a mantel constructed to deflect the heat coming out of the fireplace, protecting the TV from direct contact with the hot air being expelled when the fireplace is in use. Normally it would be safe to install a TV above a fireplace when a mantel is present but we always recommend having a professional come out to determine your needs.
Our team at Man Caves constructed and installed a custom mantel for the homeowner before mounting the TV and installing a cable box, BluRay player, and Boston Acoustics sound bar with wireless subwoofer. The mantel was later painted to match the wall color.
