HDMI cables . . . the area many home owners go wrong.  Bought some cables online and opened the box to see how poorly made that $15 cable really is, well is probably going to perform as poorly as it looks.  But you may never know the difference so who cares right?  It’s a shame that you bought that new Samsung LED and degraded it to an RCA thanks to that cable.  I’m not saying you have to buy cables that are $200 because you don’t.  But if your buying an off brand cable chances are it could have been made in someone’s garage.  That’s your call though.  Understand one thing though, in our many years of service, the number one issue related to our service calls is internet bought HDMI cable.

The HDMI cables we sell are very good quality cables made by companies like Vanco, and they don’t cost a lot either.  Vanco does have some cheaper series of cables available to the public which we have tried and were not pleased with.  The series of cable we do sell have been very reliable and is a series we can stand by and warranty.  Expect to pay around $30 for a 6′ which is a more than fair price.  Longer cables like 20′ can go around $100, a far cry from an inferior Monster Cable that Best Buy sells for $200.

If we, or one of our competitors, comes out for a service call (while you are still under warranty) and determines that the issue was the HDMI cable you bought online and insisted they use, be prepared to pay the Service Fee of $75-$150 because that will not be covered under warranty.  So the cable more than pays for itself in one service call.
